Open Thread: What Are You Working On?

It’s always interesting to see what fellow freelancers are working on, so that’s the topic of today’s open thread. I’ll start. Right now I’m juggling articles on careers and personal finance, editing work for a toy catalogue, and blog posts for several clients. Mr. Muse and I are still getting settled in our new home, so it’s a lot to juggle, but I love the variety What about you? What’s on your to do list?

  1. John Smith says:

I'm writing a book that is a collection of some of my short stories. I plan to sell it on Amazon, just to get some feedback on how my writing is. That way I can better write my real novel.

  2. Sara says:

I have several articles due in August, working on blog posts, and getting my materials ready for my fall classes. I've also been trying to increase my marketing efforts to land more clients.

  3. Jesaka Long says:

I'm taking advantage of a momentary lull in a big copywriting project to write as much as I can on a memoir. Then it will be juggling new copy for two big website revamps.

  4. Steph Auteri says:

You guys. I need someone to drag me away from the computer.

At my part-time job at YourTango, I'm editing content, blogging, managing a parenting blog, and acting as intern coordinator. I also edit listings for AOL's Patch.com on a regular basis, and write a sex column for The Frisky.

Other than that? I try to blog over at Freelancedom as often as possible. I'm writing a sexy self-help e-book with a well-known author/sex therapist. I'm trying to launch my career coaching practice, which includes starting an e-newsletter, writing up an e-course curriculum, and writing an e-book (yes, another e-book).

On top of that, I'm trying to sell my condo, buy a house, and get preggers. Plus, I just bought a domain name for a new web web venture I have an idea for. I… need a tranquilizer.

  5. Stacy Lipson says:

I'm working on a huge article, sending out tons of queries, trying to get better at crafting my query letters, conducting interviews with authors/doing tons of research.
Oh, and now I'm doing freelance work for Patch too (blurbs/pictures).

  6. Ana Gonzalez Ribeiro says:

I'm working on several articles for various websites and on doing some SEO work. I'm also trying to work on my website which needs lots of improvement and as always, I'm pitching and working on getting more clients!

  7. Naoko says:

Right now I'm in between writing jobs- one's recently ended and the other's waiting for feedback. I should also get started on researching, but have discovered Librivox and am now in the middle of choosing what to read aloud and how to volunteer XD.

  8. Laura says:

I'm working on my first novel, available for pre-sale at NakedMontreal.net, in between transcription gigs and trying to break into more advertising related work.

  9. Kellye says:

I'm working on a collection of horror short stories, my writer's blog (or at least trying to get onto some kind of consistent posting schedule with that), and also writing a serial novel for the lit mag Tales of the Zombie War.

As far as freelance goes? Pitch, pitch, pitch away.

  10. wranglerdani.com says:

Pitching and blogging. Slow and steady…

  11. Petey Silveira says:

I'm working on material for my past-life regression workshop coming up in Texas. Also continuing to post a musing every day on my FB fan page, post three days a week on my blog, and……….work on my next book! Whew! It's not even my day job!!

  12. Lori says:
